For the further Darkside events, below are some of the further designs created which will be used monthly for each event.

Again focusing on the detail of the female figure in a vectored for, I feel these work well as a set alongside the original.

For the monthly burlesque event Darkside, I have been asked to design one for each of the upcoming months, below is the second idea for a similar style poster, again in the same style and minimal coloured vector, I don't feel like this works as well, I feel I should 'zoom' in onto one part of the body of the illustration so that each works as almost a close up of the figure featured.

While it does evoke Las Vegas style costuming I feel this image is lacking the same idea of movement featured within the first design.

Finishing this rather quick and impulsive brief, the final result below. I wanted to keep it a simple more vectored approach as I will be soon creating more of these so I'd like them to work as a set. I'm pleased with the outcome and I'm looking forward to seeing them printed once the client has approved them and seeing them up and in context at the event etc.

More Darkside Poster Development

Experimenting more with the logo for the poster, I don't wish to take too much time on a simply logo as I don't want it to be the focus of the poster, also, the simpler the logo, the more detail I can give to the main illustration.

         

Pesonal Brief: Darkside Poster

A small and quick brief I'd like to have finished by the end of this week hopefully, a performer associate of mine Darkteaser, is hosting another series of monthly  Burlesque nights in which alternative cabaret performers appear as well as bands and artists. The night is called Darkside and has a definate alternative feel to it. I need to create a small logo so I can apply it to any further posters I design for these monthly events initially. Below is a few experiments with a simple logo using the vectored image of a nipple tassel, or pastie as we call them in the 'biz.
