New NPG ideas
While these are just quick mock ups, here's a few ideas how I'm debating the banners will begin to work and experiment with, currently just in black and white.
National Portrait Dev.
Having left the brief for far too long after 'falling' out with due to not feeling particularly enthusiastic towards it, I've decided rather than to leave it open and unfinished, I've decided to change the format into something of more high impact rather than the current pamphlet I was working on. This will enable me to create something with a fast turnaround as I feel I've already perhaps wasted enough time avoiding resolving this brief.
I've decided instead of the pamphlet to create a selection of hanging banners to placed in and around London advertising to the public the same initial idea as the pamphlet did, to promote short visits to the gallery.
Some of the styles of banners I'm considering.

Experimenting with NPG 2
Examples of the images on the coloured background and how they will work without their own colour. I want to use the colour blue to compliment the cleanliness of the gallery itself, I feel green/brown would hint towards a natural exhibition or museum.
National Portrait Gallery Cont.
After designing on paper my current idea to create a light hearted pamphlet detailing some of the images and collections within the NPG, I began considering to draw more recognizable and distinguishable figures. I chose to use an image of someone from a notable time.

National Portrait Gallery Brief
One of my shorter briefs, is the National Portrait Gallery brief, the brief requires a print based tool to promote the gallery for visitors to participate in small bite sized visits to the gallery, the tone is welcoming, warm and approachable. I personally wish to use light satirical humour within the brief to trying and appeal to those perhaps assuming the gallery is boring and unexciting.
I decided initially to use my illustration style to create some 'portraits' of celebrities featured within the gallery, again picking perhaps more recognizable and modern ones to appeal to the more young and 'hip' audience.
